4 ‘JMB members’ held in Mymensingh

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today arrested four suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), including a woman from Biddaganj Railway Station in Mymensingh.

Acting on a tip-off, members of the elite force arrested them around 8:00pm, Lt Col Aftekher Uddin, commanding officer of Rab-14, told The Daily Star.

They travelled from Dhaka by a Dewanganj bound commuter train, Tausiqul Alam, assistant superintendent of police in Mymensingh, told our local correspondent.

Rab-14 will hold a press briefing in this regard at 11:00am tomorrow, the ASP added.

Their identities of the arrestees were not revealed immediately.
