Sreemangal records today’s lowest temperature at 11 degrees Celsius

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today recorded the country's lowest temperature at 11 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar.

Dhaka's minimum temperature was recorded at 16.3 degrees Celsius, BMD said in its latest weather bulletin this morning.

It said night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during 24 hours commencing 9:00am today.

During the period, weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Also, light to moderate fog may occur at places over the country during late night till morning.

Assistant Meteorologist Kazi Jebennusa told The Daily Star that January is usually colder than December in Bangladesh, a trend expected to continue this season.

She added that early morning fog, including in Dhaka, is likely to persist longer next week, causing a drop in morning temperatures.
