ANWAR HOSSAIN PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

Date: March 25 – April 2, 2019

Time: Daylong

Venue: La Galerie, Alliance Francaise

Since starting his career as a photographer in 1967, Anwar Hossain had solidified his legacy as one of Bangladesh's all-time greats in the field with five national awards and more than 60 international awards. However, his legacy spans more than tangible awards can portray, having taken some of the most iconic photos of Bangladesh's Liberation War. An equally impressive cinematographer with films like Surja Dighal Bari (1979), Chitra Nodir Pare (1998), Lalsalu (2001) and Shyamol Chhaya (2004) becoming masterful works under his artistic eye. Today, we mourn the sudden demise of the great man, remembering some of his iconic works. This photography exhibition pays a humble tribute to Anwar Hossain (6 October 1948–1 December 2018), a close friend of Alliance Française de Dhaka.
