DIFF jury members Ilias Kanchan and Badhan reflect on their new roles

Renowned actors Ilias Kanchan and Azmeri Haque Badhan have been appointed as members of two different jury boards for the 23rd edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) next year.

Azmeri Haque Badhan, known for her powerful portrayals of female characters such as Rehana in “Rehana Maryam Noor” and Sultana in “Guti”, is an active advocate for women's rights.

23rd Dhaka Int'l Film Festival to dazzle in January 2025

The Dhaka International Film Festival is returning for its 23rd edition, scheduled to run over nine days from January 11 to January 19 next year.

This time around, veteran Indian actress Sharmila Tagore engaged with reporters on the festival's seventh day, and a masterclass with three respected dignitaries, including Majid Majidi, Shi Chuan and Anjan Dutt took place on Saturday. The masterclass, held at the main auditorium of the National Museum, attracted movie enthusiasts, students, and foreign guests.
